Plant Medicine: Mother Nature’s Consistent Gifts for Healing
Our bodies come from Mother Earth, our bodies return to Mother Earth. The human body has co-evolved with plants and fungi for millennia and is most adapted to utilize the support they provide for keeping the body in balance.
Plant medicine, a term that is frequently associated with fungi and/or plants that cause psychoactive experiences, more universally refers to the use of plants and/or fungi that are specifically selected for the essences they have, the phytonutrients they provide, and the ability to combine with other plants in a way that enables them to support the body in desired ways. Plant medicine refers to the intentional use of plants and/or fungi to address a physical, emotional, and/or spiritual imbalance. Knowing your constitution and attuning to your body’s specific needs facilitates a more effective relationship with choosing the plants and fungi that can best support you.
While there have been intentional efforts to undermine the value of plant medicine over the past centuries, Mother Earth continues to offer remedies and support to address the imbalances that we are presently navigating. Additionally, when we focus our healing efforts on our gut microbiome (Inner Garden), we begin our healing journey in the right place.
